What others have said

I saw Karen for three sessions of coaching. In that time I learned more about myself and how my future could look than I did in two years of psychotherapy. As an industry professional myself  I’m  always looking for great people to compliment my team.  I very much hope to continue working  with Karen in the years to come. Thanks Karen you are an absolute star! Doug Robertson, Trainer and rehab specialist. www.theperfectbum.com , 2009

"Karen was able to quickly identify my limiting beliefs an install new productive ones then set me on a specific course with outlined action steps to take me towards my goals & aspirations. It's said that all successful people have coach/mentor & I have no reservations in recommending Karen in this capacity"

Saul Tracey, Entrepreneur - The Funky Spirit & Marketer www.CanWeMakeADifference.com, 2009

"Karen worked with all my team members when they had to prepare and get ready for smile month. She took charge of the team, went through establishing what we all wanted as an end result and then delegating to all the members with a time line what their role was in the project. She also went through with difficult scenarios and how to resolve difficulties within the team when interacting with the public. Thanks to Karen, the smile month was a great success and all the team members were very enthusiastic and were able to take on projects and run with them. Eventually, she also helped some of the team members with one to one sessions to overcome their individual problems, so they could work better as an individual as well as a team. If you have any doubts - let karen do her magic!"

Dr Hitesh Batavia, Ravenscourt dental Practice http://www.rdpholistic.co.uk/ , 2009

“I am very appreciative of Karen’s warmth, clear and honest advice, motivation and support. Her enthusiasm and breadth of knowledge have been enormously helpful and she always helps me to feel positive, motivated and confident that I can achieve my goals.. Thank you!”

Teresa Kelly, London, 2009

"My future life progression session with Karen was incredibly powerful...

I went along to the session with a completely open mind.

Karen immediately put me at ease at the beginning of the session with her welcoming
and supportive approach. Once I was settled, she then skillfully guided me through the
visioning process....

There are two really powerful aspects that I would like to share with you about the session...

(1) I was also able to connect with the parts of my vison that I was already aware of in a
much deeper way (which was very reassuring).

(2) I was also able to illuminate parts of my vision that I had been completely unaware of
(which was just awesome I have to say).

Karen has a lovely way of helping people access more of their natural talents and I would
highly recommend her to anyone looking to create a powerful vision for their life."

Damien Senn, Internet Business Coach, http://www.senn-sational.com, 2009

I was amazed how after just one session with karen I was able to change how I felt about a long standing issue. Her calming, warm and insightful approach to life coaching left me feeling positive, focussed and able to move forward.

Ali Hall, Editor of Look Magazine, 2009

Karen is a fabulous NLP practitioner. I wholeheartedly recommend her to you if you are ready to move forward with your life and get clear on your vision of the future.

During my breakthrough healing session with Karen I felt totally safe and supported, and this allowed me to go deeper than I had ever before. Karen works using her intuition, within the classical framework of NLP, which creates a memorable and unique session, with fabulous results.

She helped me to move past some blocks and obstacles that had been stressing me out for the past year. I can't wait for my next session!  Thanks Karen.

Having worked with a number of fitness professionals in the past, I thought I knew what to expect. Karen's approach is totally unique. She gave me a tailored program that allows me to fit my workouts into a very busy day, incorporating the environment I spend the most time in. We used everyday objects and I have a very active and curious young baby. This helps makes my target levels of activity much more achievable. Her program is also designed to be flexible, which means that I don't have to wait for direction from her if I want to adjust the program because I am ready to move up to the next level. On top of this, her motivational techniques provide lots of added value. I know when I'm in danger of letting things slip from prior experience. Karen's NLP techniques really come in useful in those moments. They helped me to visualise not only the target itself, but the results that come from meeting it. Having had a taster of how happy I will feel when I achieve my goal helps me to be more disciplined. It is as if I been able to access the future benefits now, which is the best sort of carrot one can have in this situation. With her approach, no stick is necessary, and Karen certainly doesn't give you any. However, don't let this fool you into thinking that reaching the goal does not require much effort. As with so many good things in life, you do get out what you put in and Karen encourages you to put in quite a lot. The difference is that you know it is worth it and she helps you to find ways to maintain commitment and apply self-discipline when the initial rush of enthusiasm starts to wear thin.

Osmin Callis, new mother, March 2009

"I was down on my energy, down in my body image and - well, fat!
Then came Karen. What really worked best for me? Well it wasn't her perfection as a role model (though she has that), nor even her clear focus on me and what I wanted (though she was), nor her holding me accountable for the exercise I said I'd do in between our sessions (though she did). Probably most of all it was helping me work out how I was sabotaging myself by needing to be perfect. Realising how much I could improve when I dropped that self oppression gave me so much satisfaction I'd been denying myself. And I've now had my favourite skirt taken in to preserve my dignity!"

Roz Spencer, CEO, 2008

"Karen is warm, kind, very supportive and during the time I was working with her she became much more than a personal trainer. As an NLP coach she has taught me the importance of setting achievable goals, to recognise the negative thoughts and behaviours that hold me back, and how every positive step taken today is part of an ongoing journey towards a happier and healthier future. As a personal trainer she pushed me hard - tailoring well thought out, varied and effective sessions which demonstrated  her knowledge of training and exercise. She can also be pretty tough when needed! Karen is fun, energetic and an extremely positive person and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her services to anyone."

Katherine Dinsdale, Policy Manager, London, 2008

"Karen thank you so much for your excellent personal training sessions you gave me prior to getting married in March 2008. I dropped a whole dress size and thanks for all your hard work. I felt fabulous on my wedding day. You were truly motivational and committed and I thoroughly enjoyed all our sessions. Once again, many thanks for making my training sessions fun."
Charlotte Cole, Ofcom, 2008

“As a county middle distance athlete, I’m constantly looking for ways of improving my performance in competition. Karen helped me to realise the constraints that I was putting on myself through my perception of other competitors. I entered my next race, the UK women’s league division 1, in a completely different state of mind and managed to improve my personal best time for 3000m by 24 seconds to 10min26.”

Diane Kennedy, athlete, 2008

"Man that shit really works!!! Even when I thought it wouldn't and doubted myself, whatever little things you implanted into my mind worked like magic. Thank you so much! You are amazing!" xxx

Working with Karen in the lead up to an interview for a job I really wanted helped raise my levels of confidence and actually enabled me to look forward to a day long interview experience. Karen introduced me to a series of NLP exercises that changed me from a partly stuttering interviewee into someone genuinely confident in her ability to communicate and keen to share her skills and experience.  The outcome was that I not only enjoyed the entire day, but that I was offered the job and was given excellent feedback. I now have a set of skills that I can apply to any challenging situation and own the power to change my subconscious thinking.
Christel Thames, new mother, London, 2008

“I truly enjoyed Karen’s seminar, it was a real eye opener. She was able to keep it relaxed and interesting. We were so excited by the whole of the course that we were not ready to leave at the end of the day. I can’t wait for the next one, I learnt so much about myself.”

Gloria Outen, East London

“Exploring how one feels was perhaps one of the most important factors for my success, this was an excellent workshop day”

I worked with Karen as my coach for a five month period in 2006 in Riverside House. I typically had sessions of about two and a half hours once a fortnight with Karen.

This came about because Karen was acting as my personal trainer in the gym. We discussed various issues I was working on in professional life during our gym sessions. She offered to help me with these, building on her on NLP techniques.

I was fairly sceptical at the outset that the NLP techniques would be valuable. I am not averse to seeking professional coaching and support generally, but the NLP approach was new to me and it was not obvious how it would help.

Nevertheless I gave it a go. I had faith in Karen because I had found something highly intuitive about the way she worked, in her understanding of people and what is going on for them, which was evident to me in our physical training work together.

In the event Karen added value to my personal and professional development far beyond what my highest hopes might have been. It was a great success for me for which I am very grateful.

In our sessions, we explored using the NLP techniques various barriers to personal performance in the workplace, some of which came from my earliest years. We identified ways for me to step over these barriers psychologically and found ways to anchor these alternatives for me. We spent a considerable time working on a realisation of future scenarios, and again found ways to anchor these states in my mind. This work gave me some profound personal experiences that help me understand who I am and how to realise my potential in future.

This work was powerfully effective in preparing me for a significant professional challenge which took place towards the end of our work together. When the moment of truth came, I felt absolutely in the right state of mind, entirely personally prepared whatever the outcome might be, and Karen should take a lot of credit for that. In the end, whatever the particular outcome may have been, the process Karen took me through was very valuable to me in itself. I would certainly be very happy indeed to recommend Karen to others.

Thanks a million, Karen you are an inspiration to me. You made me feel tall when I felt small!

I have lost count of the number of times I gave up smoking - sometimes I lasted a couple of weeks, sometimes only a few hours. Once I managed to lay off the weed for over two months but it would inevitably drag me back...or so I thought!

Before I sat down with Karen for an NLP session on stopping smoking I had managed to get to the point of only smoking when having a drink; apart from when I had a few left over from the previous night at the pub and I needed to get rid of them... (and sundry other excuses); so, in my opinion I was doing quite well! Karen and I talked about why I smoked (and had done for the previous 25 years, although if you added up all the times I gave up it was probably only 24 and a half years) and after some discussion it came down to the fact that it represented youth and rebellion and being cool. As you can imagine I was rather alarmed at exhibiting such stereotypical behaviour but comforted by the fact that it was probably atypical for a 42 year old (does it mean I'm young at heart?). Anyway, there were no tricks and there was no hypnosis but the process did provide a means of looking at myself dispassionately, from the outside, allowing   a clearer vision of my motivations for particular behaviour. It became clear that it wasn't the weed dragging me back - it didn't have to - I was happy to go with it. It's always difficult to tell if these things work - I guess you are always an ex-smoker but following the session I didn't avoid the places I would normally have been tempted but I found that the desire to smoke had gone and it required nothing in the way of patches, gum or worry beads!

That session was about six or seven months ago and I think I've put myself in just about every situation that in the past would have warranted a ciggie (yes, every) but I still haven't succumbed. If that sounds like I've just about resisted temptation then that's not what I mean. I don't have to resist any longer because there is no desire whatsoever to smoke. I regard myself as a resounding success (as an ex-smoker anyway) and I would wholeheartedly recommend Karen to anybody seriously considering giving up.

I didn’t really think that I was in a bad way when I first went to Karen for life coaching, but business was slow, very slow and that was the main problem. Or so I thought!

Once Karen got going with me she really pushed me to think what my goals were and what I wanted to achieve, she then made a time table and we worked out when I would like to achieve these things by. With her wonderful enthusiasm and focus, she kept me very much to the point when I had gone off on a side issue, so we got off to a good start.

As well as life coaching Karen did some NLP work on certain blocks I had which, as it turns out were really holding me back. Some of these did surprise me, and went right back to childhood issues. Now these are mainly things that I was vaguely aware of, but hadn’t realised they were the basis of my problems, which they turned out to be.

Over the few months I was working with Karen on a weekly basis she set me tasks of things to achieve each week, this really did keep me focused at the beginning when I needed lots of structure. She also gave me plenty of support and encouragement along the way, so I have never felt alone during this scary process of change.

Now, three short months after first meeting Karen things are so very different. I have so many clients that I really don’t know what I had been playing at for the three years since I started in the complementary therapies business! I feel so much happier and enthusiastic looking forward to this wonderful new and exciting world of real success that has opened up before me.

Also, I am not afraid of booking holidays now, I was always scared that if I booked anything I might miss that all important job. Now I go ahead and book safe in the knowledge that all is fine and I will always have plenty of clients.

I still have so much support from Karen, who is only at the end of the phone if I have a blip, and she has arranged to see me again in 6 weeks so that we can look at how I am getting on.

But I really don’t think I will have a blip, everything I touch just turns to gold, and this keeps on happening!  I am being offered work from lots of different directions, and things just keep getting better!

Best of all I feel so much happier, confident and contented with my life.

Thought I would drop you a line to let you know how much your training has helped my snowboarding. Even though the conditions are pretty icy I have loads more control and confidence. My balance has improved no end since last year and I can hold nose presses and wheelies comfortably at greater angles and for much longer. I brought my gym ball out here too - took me the best part of a day to blow it up with an ancient squeaky foot pump though. Also I now have found time to do the yoga on a near daily basis - wow.
Crispin Read, London

Karen and I sat down and discussed my goals and motivation for going to the gym and personal training sessions before we started and more importantly how I would feel when I reached my goals. My objectives were fairly straight forward and easy to measure; get into a sustainable routine of exercising regularly, lose an inch off my waist and to tone up.  I come out of my sessions feeling great and highly motivated to continue with my programme as she maintains my focus on the goals I set.

After working with Karen for only 7 weeks I found I was going to the gym 5 times a week (vast improvement from my 5 times a year), I had lost 5 inches from my waist and over a stone in weight, and the best part was I didn’t feel as if I had dramatically changed my lifestyle although I look and feel significantly better than I did 2 months ago.

I have found Karen to be inspirational in my attempts to regain my fitness levels. She is an excellent motivator and doesn’t just give instructions but has driven me to drive myself. Her knowledge and understanding of personal fitness and nutrition is second to none and is always providing helpful tips and alternatives for healthy eating. Each session is well planned and structured according to individual goals and targets.

Rebecca Bissell, Putney, London, 2006

"After signing up to several gyms in succession and following the 'program' given by the trainer I realised I wasn't getting anywhere in terms of fitness levels or achieving my ideal body shape.  Then I was introduced to Karen and this completely changed in a matter of eight weeks!  Following a series of sessions with Karen and in between sessions following the tips and suggestions Karen advised; I dropped two dress sizes, my fitness greatly improved and as a result needed to invest in a brand new wardrobe of clothes!  I also had loads more energy throughout the day.”
Suzanne Turburville, Milton Keynes, 2006

My sessions with Karen have given me a whole new lease of energy, made me feel better about myself and made me realise how important it is for ones mental and physical well-being to following a regular exercise programme. Just two one-hour sessions a week has toned up my body and made me feel much better about myself and, equally importantly, give me "quality" time-out to myself. I would thoroughly recommend Karen”
Pierina, OFCOM, 2006

I had been smoking on and off for about 15 years. As most smokers, over the years I had tried to give up several times. However, each time it took me an enormous effort and I would suffer mood swings and would gain weight too. Unfortunately the result would always be the same. I would succeed for a little while and then some trigger (normally alcohol or stress) would get me started again.  I had continuous guilt about smoking but did not really think much more about it.
I have known Karen for a while as my personal trainer. In one of our assessment session she was asking me about goals. I of course was thinking fitness goals but somehow casually mentioned " ohh yes and I have been bad recently on the smoking front". Karen then used her coaching expertise on me.  It was extraordinary as she made me think about smoking in a completely new way.  From having gone for a fitness assessment session I walked away as a non smoker.  There were no mood swings there was no weight gain and actually it was no particular effort. I have now not been smoking for 3 months and I feel so much better for it. Karen has been a fantastic help in this process and I am sure that without her I would still be a smoker.
